Sept 16, 2026: Announcing the next generation of robot workers Cassie and Sonny | Learn more →

Meet Sonny, the robot worker for dexterous hand-work

Sonny is the robot worker for work done by hand: two arms on a vertical lift, with human reach and a human workspace, for kitting, sorting, packing, machine tending, and each pick.

Each pick

Sonny's first job is e-commerce fulfillment, with the capability to autonomously navigate brownfield warehouses, pick arbitrary items out of racking, and deliver completed orders to packout.

Manufacturing and maintenance

As Tutor scales Sonny deployments in e-commerce, we're working closely with our partners to expand the scope of tasks and environments on the platform, including assembly-line packaging and assembly tasks in manufacturing and maintenance tasks across the industrial supply chain.

Dexterity and task generality approaching the human form

Tutor's goal is to build generally capable robot workers, and few form factors are as general as the human body. Humans have remarkable perception, dexterity, and the ability to tackle an enormous diversity of tasks in the physical world. Sonny is an embodiment with those capabilities but optimized for the warehouse, that is sufficiently robust, safe, and cost-effective to deploy at scale across the physical economy.

Grippers

Sonny has pinching grippers with the ability to control and sense forces.

Head

Sonny can point its head in any direction, with 3D LiDAR for safety.

Vision

Sonny has stereo depth cameras on its head, torso, and on each wrist.

Safety

Sonny is safe around people and reliable to operate without human help.

Built for the warehouse you already have

Bring robotic picking to your existing aisles without rebuilding your warehouse around an automation system. Sonny handles a wide range of product shapes and packaging, picking individual items directly into order bins. It connects to your warehouse management system and brings completed orders to packout. What we promise

More orders picked. Less to manage.

Pay per successful pick, with robot operation, maintenance, and support included. Tutor keeps your fleet productive so your team can focus on getting orders out the door.

No robot babysitters

Nobody on your floor has to watch the robot. Our remote operations team monitors every robot around the clock, and our own technicians handle every repair.

No lock-in

Month to month, at will. You control when the robot runs, and you pay only when it does.

General dexterity, ready for industry

Sonny is built for our newest Ti0 4.5B parameter Vision-Language-Action robot foundation model (VLA), providing a research and deployment path to unlimited task generality and dexterity.

Ti0 is our first foundation model trained using DF1 data. Ti0 belongs to a new class of methods where policy improvement is driven autonomously via large-scale human supervision over deployed robot fleets.

EVE is our integration hub that connects any external sensor to your robot in seconds. It uses the robot's built-in intelligence to simplify your workflow, and give you total data observability, both upstream and down.

Human-like robots need to be cost effective, manufacturable at scale, safe around people, and reliable enough to operate for long periods of time without maintenance. The next-generation Sonny was designed at the intersection between Tutor’s cutting edge foundation model research and our frontier deployment work.

We’ve designed our platform for total data awareness. Log into your Tutor Portal from any device. See live video streams, track real-time performance, and get the actual insights you need to optimize your entire workflow.

Your robots get better, every day. Our ongoing research results in the direct delivery of new capability, features, and cost-savings the moment they are available. Your robot workforce will become smarter and more valuable the longer you keep it.
